| "AGROGREEN GOES TO THE EDEN PROJECT..."
June, 2007
The Eden Project is a large-scale environmental complex in the county of Cornwall in England in the United Kingdom.
The Eden Project has quickly become one of the most popular visitor attractions in the United Kingdom. The complex includes
two sets of giant interconnected transparent domes emulating a natural biome, that house plant
species from around the world. The first emulates a tropical environment, the other a warm temperate, mediterranean environment.
 |
The Humid Tropics Biome houses plants from the Tropical Islands, Malaysia,
West Africa and Tropical South America. This Biome (which could hold the
Tower of London) is 50 metres high, 110 meters wide and 240 metres long.
There are plants and crops from tropical environments and rainforests,
including bananas, coffee, balsa, mahogany, bromeliads (orchids), spices and
tropical ferns.
